Do You Suffer From Sleep Apnea?
Sleep is a magnificent thing, but to those who find it elusive, life can be brutal. We need quality sleep to have productive and healthy lives; sleep apnea causes severe interruptions in breathing that diminish sleep quality and your ability to function. Check out the following helpful tips to overcoming this serious problem.

Snoring

Everyone who snores does not have sleep apnea. Conversely, everyone who has sleep apnea does not necessarily snore either. How do you know the difference? The biggest signs are how you feel during the course of a normal day. Snoring does not interfere with the sleep quality the same way that sleep apnea does. With snoring you are less likely to suffer from fatigue during the day.

If you have sleep apnea and you hate using your CPAP, try viewing it as a kindness to your sleep partner. No doubt, they have had to put up with your loud snoring for years before you got your diagnosis. Using your CPAP every night assures that they can rest peacefully for a change. In addition, your health will improve and you will get to stay alive longer to spend more time with your loved one.

Sleep Apnea Tips

Try nasal spray to help alleviate your troubling sleep apnea symptoms. Moistening of the nasal passages can decrease snoring and increase comfort! Use a little about ten minutes prior to going to bed and your sleep should be improved; for extra relief, place a humidifier in the room as well.

The first thing to do when you think you are dealing with sleep apnea is to discover if it is really apnea or just advanced snoring. If you have a loved one sleeping with you this can be done alone at home, but if not you may need to visit a sleep clinic.

Avoid drinking alcohol. Getting buzzed or drunk causes your airways to relax too much. If someone goes to sleep in a drunk state, you can hear the effects from their deep snoring. In someone who already suffers from sleep apnea, it can be very dangerous. Avoid alcoholic drinks to sleep safer.

The major signs of sleep apnea are loud snoring, choking or gasping while sleeping, significant lapses in breathing, and daytime tiredness. Other common symptoms are morning headaches, restless sleep, irritability, waking with a sore throat or dry mouth and even having more frequent runs to the bathroom at night. If you exhibit these, then you should see your doctor promptly.

Did you know that sleep apnea is more than just snoring? Your breathing may actually stop or it may become very shallow, and this could happen upwards of a hundred times or more each night. If you feel you may be suffering from this affliction, you should see a doctor and be properly diagnosed and discuss a treatment that works best for you.

Deprivation of sleep makes a person miserable and reduces their ability to handle just about anything. Don't suffer with sleep apnea any longer than you have to; put the advice of this article to work for you and start getting higher quality sleep that your body and your life really need
